The Story Behind Lantern Hotel
Lantern is the only creative-district boutique in Singapore where genuinely quiet, design-considered rooms sit directly beneath a guest-priority rooftop bar running a serious cocktail program — so the same person who needs undisturbed sleep at midnight can hold a client dinner sixty seconds above their bed at sunset.
Lantern opened in 2019 after two years spent walking Singapore's creative quarter at dawn and midnight, charting the gaps between what travellers were asking for and what boutique hotels were willing to build. We kept hearing the same tension: guests wanted a social rooftop and undisturbed sleep in the same weekend, and no one believed both could exist under one postcode.
So we engineered acoustic separation into every floor plate, then hired a bar team who understood provenance before Instagram. The result is a 34-room property where the in-house guest holds priority at sixty rooftop covers, and the room three floors below stays silent until checkout.
We are not chasing heritage credentials or nightlife volume. Lantern exists for the traveller who plans a three-night urban stay the way they plan a menu: every detail considered, nothing left to chance.
“If a hotel promises both a rooftop bar and a quiet night's rest, one of those promises is usually ornamental. We built Lantern so neither is.”
Precision
Every finish, every booking policy, every cocktail botanical is chosen to remove guesswork from the guest experience.
Insider Access
In-house guests receive rooftop priority seating and neighbourhood curation that reflects months of walking, not minutes of searching.
Acoustic Honesty
We publish noise-separation specs because sleep quality is not negotiable for the traveller we serve.
Transparent Economics
Room rates, rooftop pricing, and reservation policies are listed in full before you book — no hidden yield management.
